Geotechnical Design Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Foundation & Retaining System Design
Deep & Shallow Foundations: Design raft foundations, isolated footings, bored piles, driven piles, and piled-raft systems, calculating bearing capacity, lateral capacity, and settlement (immediate, consolidation, and differential).
Excavation Support Systems (ESS): Design temporary and permanent earth-retaining structures, including contiguous/secant pile walls, diaphragm walls, sheet piles, soldier piles, tieback anchors, and internal bracing/struts.
Slope Stability & Earth Structures: Perform static and pseudo-static slope stability assessments for natural slopes, embankments, dams, and deep cuts, designing stabilization measures (soil nails, rock bolts, geotextiles).
- Advanced Numerical Analysis & Advanced Modeling
Finite Element / Finite Difference Modeling: Build 2D and 3D finite element models to analyze complex soil-structure interaction, stage construction, deep excavation-induced ground movements, and tunnel linings.
Liquefaction & Dynamic Analysis: Evaluate seismic hazards, liquefaction potential, and dynamic soil behavior under earthquake or machine vibration loads.
Ground Improvement Design: Formulate design packages for soil treatment methods such as jet grouting, deep soil mixing, stone columns, dynamic compaction, and preloading with vertical drains.
- Technical Reporting & Coordination
Calculations Packages: Prepare comprehensive calculation packages and detailed design reports for client review and peer approval.
Drawing Supervision: Oversee structural/CAD drafters to ensure geotechnical design details, reinforcement bars for piles/diaphragm walls, and anchor schedules are accurately depicted.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree: Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering (with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering).
Not less than 3 years of expereince in geotechnical design, soil testing interpretation, or basic structural modeling.
Deep understanding of constitutive soil models
Advanced mathematical and analytical aptitude.
Clear technical report writing skills.
