Driver - Excavator

Hard rock quarry incorporating crushing and screening plant. SHE Performance: LTIs, NLTIs, Near Hits, Task Audits Plant Performance: Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) measures for mobile plants; Site Improvement Plans, Targets and delivery; adoption of Operational Quick Wins/SOPs/Best Practice Quality Control: meeting customers’ needs – deliveries on time; rework in workshop on mobile plant for contracting; workshop performance; product compliance

Key Interfaces and Relationships Workshop Supervisor/Maintenance Manager, Production Manager, SHEQ Officials, Assistant Quarry Manager, Operations Manager-Industries, Quarry Operational personnel, Relevant Foreman & Supervisors, Contractors on site.

• Take reasonable care for the safety and health of themselves and others.
• Co-operate with management and front-line supervision in complying with legal requirements and company SHEQ standards, safety rules and safe systems or work.
• Take part and actively participate in SHEQ training.
• Take part in legal and company health screening when required.
• Must not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of safety, health, welfare or the environment.
• Wear all appropriate personal protective equipment as per site rules, safe systems of work, and as instructed by management or front-line supervision.
• Report all unsafe situations to management.
• Report all incidents and damage to management whether persons are injured or not.

Essential Qualifications

• License for operation

Experience / Achievements

• Experience to operate machine in all conditions e.g. day or night, wet or dry
• Minimum 3 years experience

Know-How

• Experience in Quarry operations.
• Ability to work safely
• Knowledge of site SHE rules.
• Knowledge of hazards identification associated with road safety and quarry environment.
• Ability to identify the symptoms of failures on machine before breakdowns occurs.

Training Requirements

• Defensive Driver Training
• Basic lubrication principles.
• IOSH Working Safely
