HSE Assistant

Responsibilities:

Assist in implementing and monitoring HSE policies and procedures. Conduct routine safety inspections and identify potential hazards. Assist with risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures. Monitor employees’ proper use of PPE and compliance with safety procedures. Support HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and safety training. Assist in investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses. Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation. Monitor workplace housekeeping and general safety conditions. Support compliance with relevant HSE regulations and company standards. Report unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards to the HSE Supervisor/Manager. Support emergency preparedness and response activities. Promote safety awareness among employees and drivers.

Requirements:

Minimum of OND in Environmental Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Sciences, or a related discipline. 1–3 years of relevant experience in an HSE role, preferably within a manufacturing, agricultural, food processing, or production environment. Good knowledge of workplace health and safety practices, risk assessment, and incident reporting. Relevant HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or other recognized certifications will be an added advantage. Good observation, communication, and reporting skills. Ability to work effectively in a production environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is an added advantage. Must be safety-conscious, proactive, disciplined, and willing to learn.

Remuneration: NGN 90,000 monthly + separate overtime payment.
