Extruder Operator

Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor extrusion machines efficiently and safely. Set up extrusion machines according to production specifications and job requirements. Load and feed raw materials into the extrusion machine correctly. Set and monitor machine parameters, including temperature, pressure, speed, and airflow. Monitor film thickness, width, clarity, and overall product quality. Make necessary machine adjustments to maintain consistent production quality. Identify and troubleshoot common extrusion machine and production issues. Monitor the extrusion process and minimise material waste and machine downtime. Inspect finished films and rolls for defects and ensure they meet required quality standards. Carry out routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance of the machine. Maintain accurate production records and report machine faults promptly. Work closely with the Production, Quality Control, and Maintenance teams. Ensure proper handling and storage of raw materials and finished products. Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe working environment. Meet daily production targets while maintaining required quality standards.

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years' proven experience operating extrusion machines. Experience in flexible packaging, polythene, nylon, plastic film, or related manufacturing is highly desirable. Good knowledge of extrusion processes and machine setup. Ability to control and adjust machine temperature, speed, pressure, and other operating parameters. Good understanding of film thickness, width, winding, and quality control. Ability to troubleshoot common extrusion machine and production problems. Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets. Good attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety. Relevant technical qualification or certification is an added advantage.
