Financial Controller

About the company

Our client is seeking an experienced, hands-on Finance Controller to lead the finance function across a multi-company manufacturing business. Managing a small team, you will ensure accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and support continued growth. This role is 100% office based.

Your tasks

• Office based role
• Lead all accounting, reporting, forecasting and month-end processes
• Produce management accounts, board reports and financial analysis
• Manage cash flow, payroll, VAT returns and year-end accounts
• Liaise with auditors, HMRC and regulatory bodies
• Oversee sales and purchase ledgers, credit control and reconciliations
• Manage multi-currency ledgers, journals and fixed assets
• Prepare R&D tax claims and support Patent Box requirements
• Calculate bonus and commission payments
• Work closely with operational teams and Sage Manufacturing systems
• Lead and develop the finance team

Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or qualified by experience
• Minimum 10 years' finance leadership experience
• Manufacturing sector background essential
• Strong management accounting and reporting expertise
• Advanced Excel skills; Sage 200 Manufacturing desirable
• Knowledge of R&D tax claims and Patent Box advantageous
