ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline. Minimum 5 years of progressive post-qualification experience , preferably in high-value building or infrastructure projects. Thorough understanding of LV and HV electrical distribution systems, including switchgear, transformers, and cabling. Expertise in electrical design and simulation software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, Revit, or similar . Strong knowledge of international electrical codes and standards, including IEC, BS, and applicable Kenyan standards . Proven experience managing complete electrical project lifecycles, including design, installation, testing, and commissioning. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on system reliability and safety. Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills. High degree of professional ethics and technical responsibility. Knowledge of energy efficiency and renewable energy integration is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Lead electrical design, calculations, drawings, and technical documentation for projects. Coordinate electrical works with structural, architectural, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines. Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems. Conduct feasibility studies and prepare electrical cost estimates. Monitor electrical project budgets, schedules, and cost controls. Advise on procurement of electrical components and materials. Support procurement negotiations and vendor performance management. Ensure electrical installations comply with approved designs and technical standards. Ensure all electrical works comply with HSE requirements and applicable Kenyan regulations. Maintain electrical safety certifications and project documentation. Develop and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
