Job Description & Skills Required

Wonderfoods Unlimited Company T/A Donnelly Fresh Foods is seeking 1 Quality Assurance Officer to support the Quality Department in maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance within a BRC-certified fresh food manufacturing environment.

Main Duties Include:

  • Monitor and maintain compliance with BRC, HACCP, GMP, Bord Bia, and food safety standards throughout production.
  • Review, update, and maintain product specifications, quality documentation, and traceability records.
  • Conduct internal quality audits and assist in the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Inspect and approve incoming raw materials and finished products against required specifications.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality, hygiene, and food safety procedures.
  • Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support staff training in food safety, quality procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and assist with regulatory inspections and customer audits.
  • Work closely with production and management teams to ensure products consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant food legislation and company quality management systems.

Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of a Level 7 qualification (Ordinary Bachelor's Degree) in Food Science or an equivalent field.
  • Experience in a Quality Assurance role within a food manufacturing or similar business is essential.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and report-writing abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Training Provided

Food Standards Auditing. HACCP Introduction or HACCP Implementation & Verification. Other training courses relevant to the role.

Hours: 39 hours per week Salary: €36,605 annually Hourly Rate: €18.05 per hour Permanent, Full-Time Position
