Steel Structural Engineer

Study and review preliminary designs, working drawings, specifications and cost estimates related to the project.

• Prepare and issue necessary Assembly and shop drawings for all allocated tasks.
• Make calculations about, loads and stresses.
• Consider the strength of construction materials and select appropriately.
• Provide technical advice on safe designs and construction.
• Prepares design specifications.
• Develops studies and calculation notes for steel structures and structural steel, crane girders .
• Prepare time schedule for executed work versus planned.
• Preparation of follow-up report and its conformity with the time schedule.
• Check technical details and drawings to ensure correct implementation in the field.
• Review products (cranes specifications), analyze materials and determine appropriateness for application to projects.
• Ensure that the fabrication workshop is supplied with all documentation and materials needed to carry out the work.
• Ensure that the work is performed at the required quality standards.
• Perform inspection and prepare documents for entire contract work projects.
• Carry out any other duties as and when required in order to meet the needs of the business.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering "Civil".
• Minimum of 3 -5 years of working experience in Technical Office.
• Competent user of Tekla Structures, AutoCAD & Primavera/ Microsoft project.
• Using SAP2000 structural analysis and design will be an advantage.
• Experience in steel structures is a must.
• Proven experience with technical drawings and details.
• Technical Office related software skills are required.
• Ability to work and perform under pressure.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and other team members.
