We are delighted to be working in partnership with a successful and growing multi-site organisation, who are looking to appoint an experienced Sales Ledger Clerk to join their friendly and supportive finance team at Head Office.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in Sales Ledger, Accounts Receivable or Credit Control who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The role offers a varied workload, exposure to multiple areas of the finance function and the opportunity to work within a collaborative team where no two days are the same.

The Role

Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of the sales ledger function, maintaining accurate customer accounts and supporting the wider finance team with month-end and audit activities.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Processing and issuing sales invoices and credit notes accurately and efficiently.
  • Importing sales invoices into Sage and maintaining accurate customer account records.
  • Processing customer refunds, card payments and cash postings.
  • Monitoring customer accounts, fee discrepancies and missing contracts, ensuring issues are resolved promptly.
  • Managing direct debit processing and supporting associated administrative tasks.
  • Responding to customer queries professionally via telephone and email.
  • Supporting month-end close activities and assisting with audit requirements.
  • Working closely with colleagues across the business to ensure the smooth running of the finance function.
  • Providing general finance administration and supporting the team with ad hoc duties as required.

About You

You will have previous experience within a Sales Ledger, Accounts Receivable or Credit Control

To be successful, you will ideally have:

  • Previous Sales Ledger and/or Credit Control experience.
  • Experience working with high-volume transactions.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive, positive approach with a willingness to support the wider team.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using Sage or a similar finance system would be advantageous.
  • Experience working within a multi-site environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
