Data Engineer
We are looking for a Data Engineer to own our data infrastructure end to end. Our core data platform is built on Google BigQuery, with Looker Studio used for reporting and visualization. You will be responsible for building and maintaining reliable data pipelines, integrating data from third-party services, and ensuring our teams have accurate, timely data for decision-making.
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest data from multiple internal and external sources into Google BigQuery
Develop and maintain integrations with third-party services and APIs (e.g., CRM, marketing, payment, and analytics platforms), including authentication, rate limiting, and error handling
Model and organize data in BigQuery: design datasets, tables, and partitioning/clustering strategies for performance and cost efficiency
Write, optimize, and maintain SQL transformations that prepare raw data for reporting and analysis
Build and maintain dashboards and reports in Looker Studio, working with stakeholders to define metrics and visualizations
Monitor pipeline health: set up alerting, logging, and data quality checks; investigate and resolve data discrepancies and pipeline failures
Manage BigQuery costs by optimizing queries, storage, and scheduled jobs
Document data sources, pipeline architecture, data models, and metric definitions
Collaborate with product, marketing, and business teams to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions
Ensure data security and compliance, including access control and handling of sensitive data
[2–4 / 3–5] years of experience in data engineering, backend development, or a similar role
Strong SQL skills, ideally with hands-on BigQuery experience (partitioning, clustering, scheduled queries, cost optimization)
Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used for data work, such as Python
Experience building and consuming REST APIs and working with third-party integrations (OAuth, webhooks, pagination, rate limits)
Experience with ETL/ELT concepts and workflow orchestration (e.g., Cloud Composer/Airflow, Cloud Functions, Cloud Scheduler, or similar)
Familiarity with Looker Studio (or comparable BI tools) and connecting it to BigQuery data sources
Understanding of data modeling principles (star schema, denormalization for analytics)
Ability to debug data issues independently and communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders
