Your tasks
About the Role We are seeking an experienced and proactive Freight Operator - Aerospace to join our Operations team in Feltham. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating international Air and Road freight shipments from booking through to final delivery, whilst supporting commercial pricing activities and delivering exceptional customer service.
Working closely with customers, carriers, overseas partners, and internal stakeholders, you will ensure shipments are delivered safely, compliantly, and cost-effectively while supporting profitable growth within a specialist aerospace logistics environment.
- Coordinate import, export, and cross-trade Air and Road freight shipments.
- Arrange collections, transport bookings, and final deliveries.
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve delays or service issues.
- Act as the primary operational contact for customers.
- Prepare accurate and competitive freight quotations.
- Obtain carrier and supplier rates and maintain pricing records.
- Manage freight documentation, including Air Waybills, customs documentation, export declarations, and CMRs.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, customer SOPs, and company procedures.
- Liaise with airlines, hauliers, overseas partners, and customs agents.
- Complete invoicing, cost accruals, and supplier invoice verification.
- Monitor shipment profitability and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience within freight forwarding, transport, or logistics operations.
- Experience coordinating international import, export, and cross-trade shipments.
- Experience preparing freight quotations and sourcing supplier rates.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Good understanding of Air and Road freight operations.
- Knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures, and freight documentation.
- Experience using freight management or transport systems.
- Good Microsoft Office skills.
Preferred A minimum of 2 years' Aerospace freight/logistics experience is highly preferred.
