Materials Planning & Procurement Specialist Location: Marietta, OH Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Travel: Up to 10% for supplier visits and industry events Starting Salary: From $60,000 per year (higher compensation may be available based on experience) Position Overview We are seeking a Materials Planning & Procurement Specialist to support manufacturing operations by managing both purchasing and material planning activities. This role is responsible for ensuring production has the materials needed to meet customer delivery schedules while maintaining cost-effective inventory levels. Working closely with engineering, production, quality, logistics, and sales teams, you will coordinate the sourcing, planning, and movement of materials used in the assembly of electromechanical power distribution equipment. The position operates in an ERP/MRP-driven manufacturing environment and plays a key role in maintaining an efficient supply chain. Products supported include Power Distribution Cabinets (PDCs), Static Transfer Switches (STS), Remote Power Panels (RPPs), and Medium/Low Voltage Switchgear assemblies. Responsibilities Manage purchasing and production planning for assigned manufacturing programs or product lines. Purchase raw materials, electrical components, and other production-related items required to support manufacturing operations. Coordinate material availability from procurement through receiving, inventory, production, and shipment. Utilize ERP/MRP systems to create, monitor, and update purchasing and planning activities. Work closely with production, inventory, and operations teams to ensure materials are available when needed. Monitor inventory levels and help maintain accurate planning and purchasing data. Source and procure manufacturing components, including electrical parts such as wires, cables, energy meters, and related materials. Support production schedules by identifying potential material shortages and helping resolve supply issues. Maintain accurate records and planning information within the ERP system. Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Buyer, Planner, or Buyer/Planner role. Manufacturing or production environment experience. Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite , or comparable software. Experience with production planning, purchasing, inventory management, and material flow processes. Background sourcing and purchasing electrical components and manufacturing materials. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Preferred Qualifications APICS certification or other supply chain credentials. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
