Pessoa Backend Java Tech Lead (Z-Unit)

Accountabilities: As a Backend Java Tech Lead, you will be responsible for leading technical decisions, supporting engineering teams, and delivering robust backend solutions. You will combine architectural vision with practical execution, ensuring quality, scalability, and operational excellence across critical systems.

Lead the technical direction of engineering squads by defining backend architecture, development standards, and scalable solutions.

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems using Java and modern cloud technologies.

Conduct code reviews, establish development guidelines, and promote best practices in version control and software engineering.

Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines, integrating services and environments within distributed architectures.

Drive the implementation of secure authentication, monitoring, observability, and infrastructure practices.

Analyze technical trade-offs involving algorithms, data structures, and system performance to support complex decisions.

Promote the adoption of AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and delivery quality.

Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to solve technical challenges and continuously improve processes.

Mentor developers, share knowledge, and contribute to the evolution of engineering culture and practices.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced backend engineer with strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a passion for building scalable technology solutions. You should have a solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, software architecture, and modern development practices.

Advanced experience with Java, Spring Boot, and backend application development.

Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and database design principles.

Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, and cloud services such as AWS ECS, RDS, ALB/NLB, S3, and Bedrock.

Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, OAuth2 authentication, messaging systems such as Kafka, and distributed architectures.

Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code practices, including Terraform.

Experience implementing security best practices, monitoring, logging, and observability solutions such as Grafana.

Ability to make architectural decisions, evaluate technical trade-offs, and guide engineering teams.

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote and multidisciplinary environment.

Nice-to-have experience includes:

Experience with canary deployments, blue-green releases, or advanced deployment strategies.

Background working with machine learning applications or automation initiatives.

Experience creating automated testing strategies for complex CI/CD environments.

Familiarity with additional observability tools such as Prometheus or New Relic.

Experience integrating or customizing generative AI platforms within software development workflows.
