Accountabilities: The Embedded Software Engineer will design, develop, and test embedded software solutions while collaborating with engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and efficient real-time systems. Develop and maintain embedded software applications throughout the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, coding, testing, debugging, and deployment. Design and implement firmware solutions for real-time embedded systems. Write efficient and maintainable code using C and C++ programming languages. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate embedded software with hardware components and larger system architectures. Analyze technical requirements and contribute to software design decisions and system improvements. Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and optimization of embedded applications. Support testing activities to ensure software reliability, performance, and compliance with project requirements. Work independently in a remote environment while maintaining effective communication with engineering teams and project stakeholders. Apply software development best practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements: The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing embedded software, strong programming abilities, and the ability to independently deliver solutions in a remote engineering environment. 3+ years of experience in embedded software development. Strong proficiency in C and C++ programming. Experience developing software for real-time embedded systems. Knowledge of firmware architecture, development processes, and embedded software design principles. Experience working across the software development lifecycle from design through deployment. Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex software and hardware-related issues. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to technical detail. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed teams. Experience with hardware integration is preferred. Familiarity with debugging tools such as JTAG is a plus. Knowledge of Agile development methodologies is preferred. Benefits: Competitive contract rate of $80–$90 per hour. Fully remote opportunity available across the United States.
