Applied AI Engineer - ANZ

Accountabilities As an Applied AI Engineer, you will act as a technical partner for enterprise teams, helping them successfully integrate AI-driven workflows into their engineering processes. You will combine software engineering skills, customer engagement expertise, and strategic thinking to deliver impactful AI adoption programs.

Embed with engineering teams to drive meaningful adoption of AI-powered development tools and ensure long-term customer success.

Design, implement, and optimize agentic workflows across areas such as software engineering, quality assurance, support, data, and product development.

Lead technical enablement activities, including workshops, training sessions, and collaborative programming sessions with engineering teams.

Support customers with installation, configuration, integrations, and optimization of AI development tools and related technologies.

Partner with developers on real production challenges to demonstrate effective AI usage patterns and accelerate adoption.

Measure and communicate business impact by tracking productivity improvements, identifying ROI opportunities, and supporting expansion strategies.

Transform customer insights into scalable resources, including playbooks, documentation, learning materials, and best practices.

Collaborate with internal teams to continuously improve deployment strategies and customer engagement approaches.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering foundations with excellent communication skills and the ability to work directly with customers. You should be comfortable navigating complex technical environments, learning quickly, and driving measurable outcomes.

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field or equivalent practical experience.

3+ years of experience as a software engineer, technical consultant, solutions engineer, deployment strategist, forward-deployed engineer, or similar technical role.

Strong coding ability in languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or comparable technologies.

Experience communicating complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Proven ability to drive technology adoption and deliver measurable improvements within engineering teams.

Strong commercial awareness and understanding of how successful technical engagements create business value.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to learn rapidly, adapt to changing priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-have qualifications include:

Experience leading developer enablement, platform adoption, or AI transformation initiatives with measurable results.

Experience deploying or integrating large language models or agent-based AI systems in production environments.

Previous experience in startups or high-growth environments where ownership and speed are essential.

Passion for helping teams improve productivity through thoughtful technology adoption.
