About the Position

Golden State is seeking a proficient, hardworking, creative, and detailed Music Coordinator to join the team. The Music Coordinator plays a key part in the execution and presentation of Warriors and Valkyries home games. In this role, you are responsible for recording, downloading, mixing, curating, editing, and playing the sound effects and music during games. You are deft around sensitive audio equipment and an authority in using them to ensure the best acoustic result for the venue and pace of the game. We expect you to be knowledgeable about different audio recording and editing techniques.

You will also ensure the quality, cadence, tone and feel of the audio content matches the standards set by the Golden State brand name and game experience team. You should have a creative mind with a real passion for crafting immersive and entertaining live experiences. This position reports directly to the Manager, Game Presentation.

This is a part-time position based in San Francisco.

Key Responsibilities

Create an atmosphere that energizes the crowd and motivates the players

Play the music, backing tracks, special effects and sound prompts during live Valkyries and Warriors home games including the primetime, halftime, and dance team music for performances

Build and maintain sound and music libraries

Record, edit and mix audio tracks (instruments, vocals etc.)

Follow suggestions, recommendations, and guidelines from directors and producers

Test sound equipment before games and broadcasts

Improve sound quality and add sound effects to recordings

Resolve technical issues when they arise

Minimizing unwanted sounds and regulating volume levels and sound quality

Collaborating with producers, DJs, performers, stage managers, and other audio techs to coordinate maximum impact and guest experience

Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in audio/sound engineering or equivalent experience a plus

5-7 years’ experience as sound engineer a plus

Extensive knowledge of various musical genres, music trends, and experience programming music

Technical expertise using sound equipment, such as audio mixing consoles, 360 Systems Instant Replay, Ableton live and Sound Director effectively

Extensive experience in sound engineering techniques (e.g., equalizations) and familiar with sound editing and recording equipment (e.g. mixing consoles)

Working knowledge of recording software and hardware (e.g. Pro Tools, Adobe Audition)

Ability to follow Run of Show (ROS) and make real-time in game adjustments

A standout colleague with excellent interpersonal skills

Excellent hearing and manual dexterity

Extensive experience in sound engineering techniques (e.g., equalizations) and familiar with sound editing and recording equipment (e.g. mixing consoles)

Compensation

$25.00 Per Hour
