Your tasks

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
• Set up and adjust production machineries/tools.
• Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments.
• Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
• Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Set up machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders.
• Ensure all drill bits, end bills, precision cutters and lathe tools are kept sharp.

Requirements

Education Other trades certificate or diploma. Machine tool technology/machinist. Machine shop technology/assistant. or equivalent experience.

Equipment and machinery experience

• Drill presses.
• Engine lathes.
• Lathes and other machining tools.

Work conditions and physical capabilities

• Ability to work independently.
• Repetitive tasks.

Weight handling Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
