Security Engineer (m/f/d)

HOW you will contribute:

• Operational Readiness & Network Security: In your role, you will ensure the stable operational readiness and security of the security infrastructure and continuously develop the existing IT security landscape.
• Administration & Infrastructure Operation: You will administer and operate central network and security components, especially firewalls and VPN solutions (Check Point, Forcepoint), DNS/DHCP (Bind, Infoblox) as well as web proxies and mail gateways.
• System & Platform Operation: You will reliably support the underlying Linux systems (RHEL) with a focus on security, network, and performance optimization, as well as web server, WAF, load balancer, and application server infrastructures (Apache, ModSecurity, Kemp, Netscaler, Tomcat, JBoss, Spring Boot).
• WAN & Network Architecture: You are responsible for the administration and further development of WAN connections (Internet, MPLS, data center couplings) and design modern network architectures such as DMZ and Zero Trust models for secure segmentation.
• Maintenance, Optimization & Concepts: You will carry out regular maintenance and update measures, analyze and optimize existing infrastructures, and develop technical concepts and documentation for sustainable solutions.
• Compliance & Governance: You will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., DORA), monitor their implementation, and actively contribute to the quality assurance and further development of security standards.

HOW you will start with us:

• Completed studies in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable course of study with 3+ years of experience in the field of IT infrastructure / IT security, or completed training as an Informatikkaufmann/kauffrau, Fachinformatiker:in or similar with 5+ years of experience in the corresponding environment
• Professional experience in the planning, coordination, and implementation of technical infrastructure projects
• Equally broad and deep IT knowledge in the field of IT security with mastery of the required and supporting IT systems
• Confident application of moderation and presentation techniques as well as project management methods; good English in speaking and writing
• An entrepreneurial and proactive, resilient personality with an agile/digital mindset and good dialogue and conflict management, who communicates confidently
