The Federal Competence Center for Ammunition Salvage (BKZ) is to be established at the new Rostock location. The immediate program "Ammunition Legacy in the North and Baltic Seas" aims to salvage and destroy up to 1.6 million tons of World War ammunition from the seabed. Tasks

You are responsible for the establishment of the BKZ, the professional structures and expertise, as well as the planning and implementation of the technical and strategic goals agreed upon with the client. You will take on the disciplinary leadership and personnel development of the employees reporting directly to you, their overall technical management, and the promotion of a good working atmosphere. You hold overall responsibility for the implementation of tasks and processes in the area, including the control of work progress and compliance with deadlines. You represent the BKZ and the relevant subject areas in the political and professional environment and expand the network. You are the contact person for the clients in the Ministry for the respective topics. You support the management in the development and implementation of the corporate strategy.

Requirement Profile

  • Completed university degree, preferably in marine, environmental, or engineering sciences, chemistry, or a comparable course of study
  • Sound specialist knowledge in the field of ammunition salvage in maritime contexts
  • Knowledge of German administrative structures in the areas of coast, marine environment, or disaster protection
  • Knowledge of the legal framework for ordnance disposal and marine protection (ideally SeeUmwVerhV, HELCOM-Übereinkommen, OSPAR)
  • Demonstrable experience in dealing with political institutions, ideally with experience in decision-making processes and workflows at the ministerial level
  • Sound leadership experience with disciplinary leadership, ability for motivating employee leadership
  • Excellent communication and cooperation skills, organizational talent, as well as above-average commitment, gender and diversity competence
  • Business fluent English skills in speaking and writing
  • Willingness for occasional business travel
