BI Developer/Information Analyst
Do you enjoy working at the intersection of data, healthcare processes, and information provision? Do you want to use your BI knowledge to contribute to reliable management information and better decision-making in the hospital? Then this position as BI Developer/information analyst is for you.
Where you will work You will be working in the Business Intelligence team. Together with Stepic, this team is part of the Informatisering department within the IAMT (Informatisering, Automatisering & Medische Technologie) cluster, where approximately 100 colleagues are employed.
The BI team develops, manages, and improves management information, reports, and dashboards for areas including quality, capacity, finance, HR, healthcare processes, and pharmacy. We work closely with the hospital's practical operations and manage an important part of the data cycle: from registration in the source to usable information for management, healthcare professionals, and support departments.
Due to the growing need for data-driven working, we are looking for an experienced colleague who can not only create reports but also provide substantive direction for good BI solutions, data quality, and unambiguous definitions.
Your responsibilities As BI Developer/Information Analyst, you ensure that information requests are translated into reliable analyses, dashboards, reports, and management information. Your duties include:
- inventorying and analyzing information needs at strategic, tactical, and operational levels;
- probing further into information requests and translating user and client questions into clear definitions, feasible solution directions, data models, KPI’s, dashboards, and reports;
- developing, managing, and improving reports and dashboards based on SQL databases, Epic data, and other data sources;
- monitoring and improving data quality, consistency, and traceability of information;
- thinking along about the design of BI solutions and the further professionalization of data-driven working;
- collaborating with healthcare professionals, managers, information managers, application coordinators, and other colleagues within IAMT;
- advising on the interpretation, use, and further development of management information;
- contributing to projects, optimizations, and the further digitalization of healthcare.
Your work consists of a combination of management, analysis, development work, advice, and project-based improvements. This gives you a broad insight into the hospital's processes and allows you to make a direct contribution to reliable information provision and better decision-making.
What you bring You are analytically strong, curious, and accustomed to understanding complex information requests. You can switch effectively between users, processes, and technology and are a strong interlocutor for colleagues and clients. Additionally, you possess:
- a relevant degree at HBO or WO level or demonstrably comparable professional and thinking level;
- extensive experience with BI, information analysis, data modeling, report development, and/or data analysis;
- demonstrable experience with SQL and working with relational databases;
- Epic certifications in the field of BI-development, such as Cogito, Clarity, and Caboodle, or the willingness to obtain these;
- experience in translating complex processes and information needs into usable management information;
- a critical eye for data quality, definitions, and consistent use of information;
- good communication skills and the ability to explain complex information understandably;
- good command of the English language.
Senior BI professionals who want to apply their experience in a complex healthcare environment are also explicitly invited to respond. Do you have solid BI experience and the motivation to further develop within Epic? We will support you with targeted training and certification.
We offer a varied position in which you play an important role in the further development of reliable management information and data-driven working within St Jansdal. You will work in a committed team with short lines of communication and plenty of room to apply and further develop your expertise. You can count on:
