CUSTOMS CLEARANCE SPECIALIST

Zhafari Logitics limited is a logistics company located at Gateway Mall, Syokimau, along Mombasa Road, Kenya. The company is dedicated to providing reliable and efficient logistics solutions, including shipping, freight forwarding ,and customs clearance services. We aim to simplify the movement of goods by offering professional support, timely service, and customer-focused solutions to meet our clients’ shipping and supply chain needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and coordinate customs clearance procedures for both imported and exported goods.
• Ensure compliance with applicable customs laws ,import and export regulations and other statutory requirements.
• Liase with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA),Customs officials ,port authorities ,shipping lines, freight forwarders, transporters, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Verify shipping documents ,including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin ,and permits where applicable.
• Maintain accurate records of customs transactions, shipment documents, payments, and clearance activities.
• Prepare regular reports on shipment status, clearance performance and outstanding issues.
• Advise clients and internal teams on customs requirements, applicable duties taxes and clearance procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply chain and Clearing and forwarding.
• Minimum of 5 years proven experience in customs clearance ,freight forwarding or a related field.
• Familiar with customs procedures and capable of handling issues effectively.
• Possess a certain network of contacts related to customs clearance.

• Salary is based on individual skills and work experience.
