Derby | £29,620 per annum + £70 sleep-ins + bonus | Full-time

Are you someone who enjoys working with children and young people and wants to make a genuine difference to their lives?
We are currently recruiting Residential Care Workers to join a children’s residential home in Derby. This is a rewarding role where you will provide day-to-day care, support and encouragement to children and young people, helping them feel safe, supported and able to develop their confidence and independence.
You do not need previous experience in children’s residential care for this role. Experience working with children in any setting could be relevant — for example, nursery, early years, schools, youth work, activity settings, family support or other childcare environments . What matters most is that you are caring, resilient, positive and able to build trusting relationships with young people.
The role
You will work as part of a supportive team to:
- Provide high-quality, individualised care to children and young people
- Build positive and trusting relationships and act as a strong role model
- Support children with their emotional, physical, educational and social development
- Encourage education, activities, hobbies and independence
- Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
- Support children who may display challenging or complex behaviours
- Maintain a safe, clean and positive home environment
- Complete daily records and reports accurately
- Work closely with colleagues, families and other professionals
- Support the Registered Manager and wider team in maintaining high standards of care
What we're looking for
We are interested in people who have:
- Some experience of working with children or young people – this can be from a range of backgrounds
- A genuine interest in supporting children to thrive
- Good communication skills and a calm, patient approach
- Resilience and the ability to manage challenging situations
- A willingness to learn and develop within children's residential care
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's wellbeing
- The willingness to undertake the required qualifications and training
A Level 3 qualification is not essential for this role.
A full driving licence would be desirable, as there may be occasions when you are required to drive company vehicles.
An enhanced DBS check will be required.

- £29,620 per annum , dependent on experience and qualifications
- £70 per sleep-in
- Additional bonus-related pay
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Shift pattern including days, lates, nights, weekends and Bank Holidays
