Conduct regular site inspections at plumbing and sanitary project sites to ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act and company safety policies
Prepare, review and implement Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP) for plumbing, sanitary and drainage works
Implement and monitor Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems for high-risk activities such as work at height, confined space entry (e.g. manholes, sumps, inspection chambers), hot work (welding/brazing) and excavation
Conduct safety inductions, toolbox meetings and safety trainings for workers and subcontractors
Advise Project Managers and Management on safety and risk control measures
Intervene and stop work when there are unsafe acts or conditions
Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses, submit reports to Management and relevant authorities (e.g. MOM), and propose corrective and preventive actions
Ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE, tools, ladders, scaffolds and lifting equipment
Coordinate with main contractors' safety teams and attend site safety meetings
Maintain safety documentation and records, and support bizSAFE certification and audits
Liaise with regulatory bodies on WSH matters
Other ad-hoc duties as assigned
Requirements
Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with MOM
Min. 2 years of experience as a Safety Officer or Safety Coordinator in the construction industry; experience in plumbing & sanitary or M&E works will be an advantage
Good knowledge of the WSH Act, Codes of Practice and site safety requirements
Certification in Confined Space Safety Assessor, Work at Height or Lifting Supervisor will be an advantage
Willing to travel to multiple project sites islandwide
Proficient in MS Office for reports and documentation
Able to work with colleagues and workers of different levels, nationalities and cultures
Good communication, interpersonal and advisory skills
