Fullstack Engineer (Public Sector)

We are looking for a passionate and versatile Software Engineer (DevOps) to join our Optical product engineering team.
In this role, you will enhance our platform by developing custom extensions, integrations, and backend services, while owning the DevOps practices that keep the platform running smoothly. From CI/CD automation and cloud infrastructure to monitoring and technical operations, you will help deliver reliable and scalable solutions that will be used across Xtremax.
You will also collaborate with Product Managers, Product Operations, Tech Leads and fellow engineers to design, deliver, and operate high-quality solutions while contributing to engineering best practices.
What to Expect
- Platform Engineering: Build and enhance our commercial platform through custom extensions, integrations, and backend services.
- DevOps & Cloud Operations: Improve software delivery and platform reliability through AWS infrastructure, CI/CD automation, monitoring, and operational tooling.
- Technical Operations: Support production systems by troubleshooting issues, maintaining platform health, and driving operational improvements.
- Collaborative Engineering: Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions while contributing to engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain platform extensions, custom modules, add-on features, backend APIs, services, and integration components using TypeScript (Node.js).
- Provision, configure, and manage application environments to enable reliable and efficient deployments.
- Develop and improve AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, monitoring, alerting, and operational automation (e.g. backups, recovery, and patching).
- Provide technical support for production systems by troubleshooting incidents, resolving platform issues, and improving system reliability and availability.
- Participate in architecture discussions, system design, and code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable solutions.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture, operational procedures, and runbooks.
- Contribute to engineering best practices across software development, DevOps and platform operations.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Technical Stack, Modern Web Technologies: React.js + TypeScript (especially for production-scale dashboards).
- Solid backend development experience using Node.js.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS (EKS, Cloudfront, WAF, S3, ECS, SNS, IAM, Cloudwatch, ACM etc.).
- DevOps Tools: Experience with CI/CD tools and GitOps (e.g., GitLab, ArgoCD).
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Terragrunt).
- Comfortable with Unix/Linux, Shell-scripting and Python.
- Methodology: Familiarity with Agile processes/practices (e.g., Scrum, Extreme Programming).
Experience
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant working experience is preferred.
Experience in the following is advantageous:
- Container technologies and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- AWS Network administration (VPC, subnets, routing, network ACLs, Elastic load balancers, DNS, network firewall).
- Complex web hosting configurations (web servers, database servers).
- ElasticSearch for observability and monitoring.
