Design Engineer
About the Role XDOF is looking for a Design Engineer to design and develop workstations, stations, fixtures, and supporting equipment used in our operations. This role combines engineering design, CAD/software skills, and hands-on technical work. You will be involved from design and documentation through fabrication, installation, testing, and improvement.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop workstations, stations, fixtures, and supporting equipment
- Create 2D/3D engineering drawings using CAD software
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, dimensions, and BOM
- Translate operational requirements into practical engineering designs
- Support fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing
- Conduct design reviews, troubleshooting, and design improvements
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, vendors, and fabricators
- Ensure designs meet functionality, safety, ergonomics, quality, and cost requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in Design Engineering, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar roles
- Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, CATIA, or similar
- Strong understanding of mechanical design and engineering drawings
- Familiar with dimensions & tolerances, material selection, BOM, and fabrication processes
- Experience designing workstations, fixtures, jigs, equipment, machinery, or industrial structures is highly preferred
- Understanding of welding, machining, cutting, bending, and assembly processes
- Good knowledge of mechanical components and basic pneumatic/electrical systems is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach
- Able to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
