Ericsson is a class leader for the technology of the future and is now in the process of shifting the classic telecommunications industry into the future. One of the components in this major undertaking involves the development of new virtualized platforms. This means there is a chance for you to jump on the success train that is showing the way for the technology of the future. We are looking for you who want to be one of the key persons in the incubator unit, RAN-I, where you, with your dynamic thinking, will set the course for how the unit shall be driven forward. If you have an interest in programming and cloud solutions, this will be of great help when you build up the next generation of data-driven platforms for telecommunications infrastructure. On this path, you will also contribute to a leading global Open Source project that is part of the Linux Foundation.
About you: You will get to explore new, uncharted paths when it comes to creating code and test your way to the best solution. This, in combination with short decision-making paths, ensures that creativity is fostered and you will personally drive your work forward with the team. The team is multifunctional (Linköping and Stockholm) and works agilely with the end-to-end principle to contribute to the Open Source community. In your role as a developer, you will among other things work with Java, Python, Openstack and KVM, Kafka, Hadoop etc. You will work on developing "proof of concepts" where the goal is that your solutions will be used fully in Ericsson's operations, but also by anyone around the whole world.
RAN-I is part of product development within 4G and 5G where ideas become tomorrow's technology and products. RAN-I is a new unit and therefore we are looking for you who is driven, spurred by making your own decisions and collaborating with like-minded individuals. Being a part of RAN-I means that you become one of the key persons regarding the building of the environment, the tools, testing of frameworks, and strategies together with others in the team. In other words, you will be responsible for the software products from idea to final product! We are looking for you who have approximately 3 years of experience in software development or experience from Open Source communities. You probably have an education in computer science, a civil/university engineer in a suitable field, or equivalent work experience. Ericsson communicates in English within the internal organization, therefore we would like you to be able to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
