Operations Research Analyst – Logistics

Job Summary

X2 Express Pte Ltd is seeking an Operations Research Analyst to support data-driven planning and optimisation of our logistics and delivery operations. The role will apply mathematical, statistical and analytical methods to improve route planning, manpower deployment, delivery capacity and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse delivery, parcel-volume and operational data to identify trends and performance gaps.
• Develop quantitative models to optimise delivery routes, manpower allocation and operational capacity.
• Conduct route and workload analysis to improve delivery efficiency.
• Forecast parcel volumes and manpower requirements based on historical and operational data.
• Analyse driver and delivery productivity using defined operational KPIs.
• Conduct cost, capacity and scenario analysis to support management decisions.
• Develop mathematical and statistical models for operational planning and resource allocation.
• Analyse warehouse and last-mile delivery processes and recommend data-driven improvements.
• Prepare management reports, dashboards and performance analysis using Excel, Power BI or other analytical tools.
• Conduct what-if analysis for changes in delivery volume, manpower, routes and operating capacity.
• Work with operations and management teams to translate analytical findings into practical operational improvements.
• Monitor the effectiveness of implemented optimisation initiatives and report outcomes to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Data Analytics or a related quantitative discipline.
• Knowledge of mathematical modelling, statistics and quantitative analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Power BI, SQL, Python or similar analytical tools will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of logistics and supply-chain operations will be an advantage.
• Ability to analyse large operational datasets and translate findings into practical recommendations.

Preferred Background

Candidates with logistics, warehouse, transportation, supply-chain or delivery operations experience will be considered favourably.
