R&D Manager

Our client is a multinational group specializing in the design, development, and industrialization of special cables and interconnection solutions for critical industrial infrastructures (automation, transport, medical, energy). To strengthen the 'Product Design and Development' team, they have commissioned us to search for a PRODUCT & DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER - SPECIAL CABLES. The figure designs, develops, and supervises the industrialization of new special cables, translating technical customer requirements into producible and industrializable products, to guarantee high standards of quality and performance, in constant collaboration with internal departments, particularly production and quality. They interface with the customer (in English) for the evolution of the order. Specifically, the resource: analyzes new customer requests, defines specifications, elaborates costing, develops new cables (power/measurement/control/data); creates datasheets, manages BOM and cycles on ERP, follows qualification and industrialization of new products, analyzing tests and proposing improvements; supports production on process optimization, scale-up from prototype to series, and resolution of issues related to design/materials, ensuring compliance with standards (UL/IEEE/IEC/NEC/ISO). We wish to contact candidates with an educational background in electrical, mechanical, materials science, or similar fields who want to undertake a professional growth path in the position (ideally we have 3-5 years) in R&D/technical projects in cable manufacturing companies (preferably special cables). They have knowledge of cable construction/materials and test methods/standards and familiarity with basic CAD (e.g., AutoCAD). Alternatively, they are professionals working in technical offices, R&D, quality, or production, always in the cable sector, who want to challenge themselves and undertake a path in a different business area. Fluent knowledge of the English language is required (or at least technical level knowledge to speak with customers in English). The profile is completed by a growth mindset, proactivity, problem solving, and orientation toward continuous improvement.
