Sea Freight Operator

Work4u International, on behalf of a client, a company specializing in international sea freight and logistics services, is seeking a Sea Freight Operator to strengthen its team in Piraeus.

The ideal candidate will undertake the coordination and daily management of sea freight shipments, from order receipt and booking to arrival and cargo delivery, ensuring the smooth and timely completion of every transport.

Main Responsibilities

• Receipt, entry, and management of sea freight shipments (Sea Freight) from the initial order through to delivery completion.
• Management of FCL and LCL shipments, depending on each customer's needs.
• Communication with customers to collect and confirm the necessary information for each shipment.
• Checking vessel availability, routes, transit times, and schedules.
• Execution and monitoring of bookings with shipping companies and carriers.
• Coordination with international agents, shipping companies, transport companies, terminals, warehouses, and overseas partners.
• Entry and continuous updating of shipments in the company's information/ERP system.
• Checking and managing the necessary documents for sea freight.
• Monitoring and management of Bill of Lading (B/L) and related shipping documents.
• Monitoring cargo progress via track & trace and updating customers and partners.
• Coordination of loading, collection, and delivery in cooperation with transport companies and warehouses.
• Communication with customs partners and coordination of required customs clearance procedures.
• Monitoring ETA / ETD and immediate updates regarding any changes to routes.
• Management of delays, vessel changes, rollovers, and other operational issues.
• Immediate handling of problems that may arise during transport.
• Collaboration with the commercial, financial, and operational departments of the company for the smooth completion of shipments.
• Ensuring timely and correct updates to all involved parties.
• Adherence to internal procedures and the company's required quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• Proven professional experience in Sea Freight / Freight Forwarding / International Logistics.
• Experience in managing FCL and/or LCL shipments.
• Experience in the booking process and communication with shipping lines/carriers.
• Very good knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken.
• Good knowledge and use of MS Office and information systems.
• Familiarity with sea freight procedures and documents.
• Good knowledge of the Bill of Lading process and management.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and different deadlines.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
