We are looking for an experienced executive to take full responsibility for the International Road Freight department, with a strong operational background and proven experience in managing international FTL, LTL, and groupage transports.

Responsibilities: Management of international FTL, LTL, groupage, and express / dedicated transports. Organization and monitoring of imports and exports to/from European markets. Daily coordination of loadings, deliveries, transits, and available transport volume. Immediate management of operational problems, delays, claims, and emergencies. Management and development of a network of cooperating carriers and European partners. Negotiation of freight rates and commercial terms with carriers and subcontractors. Ensuring a competitive buying rate and controlling the transport cost. Preparation and checking of quotations for existing and new customers. Monitoring profitability per customer, trade lane, and shipment. Monitoring margins and active intervention where low or negative profitability is identified. Management of key accounts and personal involvement in demanding or strategic accounts. Development of new transport solutions and new trade lanes. Collaboration with Sales for tenders, RFQs, and new business opportunities. Guidance, training, and daily support of the operational team. Definition of procedures and operating standards for the department. Monitoring KPIs regarding service level, profitability, delays, claims, and carrier performance.

Qualifications:

Many years of professional experience in international road freight, preferably 8–15+ years. Previous experience in a freight forwarder, logistics provider, or international transport company. Very good knowledge of the European road freight market. Strong experience in FTL and LTL/groupage. Proven network and knowledge of European carriers and transport partners. Experience in carrier procurement and freight rate negotiation. Strong knowledge of transport costing and pricing. Understanding of contribution margin / gross profit per shipment and customer. Experience in key account management. Experience in managing or leading an operational team. Very good knowledge of English. Good knowledge of TMS / ERP and MS Office, especially Excel.
