Air Freight Operator

Work4u International, on behalf of its client, a company specializing in international transport and logistics services, is seeking a Senior Air Freight Operator to strengthen its team in Piraeus.

The suitable candidate will undertake the daily management of air shipments, playing an active role in all stages of transport, from order receipt and booking to the delivery of the cargo to the final destination.

Main Responsibilities

• Management and coordination of air freight shipments, from the initial order to the completion of delivery.
• Receipt and verification of the necessary details and documents for each shipment.
• Entry and updating of shipments in the company's information/ERP system.
• Checking flight availability, routes, transit times, and freight rates.
• Execution and management of cargo bookings with airlines.
• Coordination with airlines, international agents, overseas partners, transport companies, and customs partners.
• Daily communication with customers to provide updates regarding the progress of shipments and any changes or delays.
• Monitoring shipments via track & trace and immediate management of potential delays, route changes, or other issues.
• Checking and coordinating the processes required for the smooth movement of cargo.
• Collaboration with the relevant departments for the correct and timely completion of each shipment.
• Management of emergencies and seeking immediate and effective solutions.
• Ensuring correct and timely updates to all involved parties.
• Adherence to internal procedures and the company's required quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• Proven professional experience in Air Freight / Freight Forwarding / International Logistics.
• Experience in managing air shipments and the booking process.
• Very good knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken.
• Good familiarity with information systems and office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
• Very good communication skills and professional behavior.
• Responsibility, consistency, and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to handle problems immediately and make decisions.
