Education:

College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.

Work setting:

School or educational institution/establishment.

Tasks:

  • Instruct in the use of rehabilitative techniques, prosthetic devices and wheelchairs.
  • Instruct students in formation and development of sound for speech using hearing aids and other devices.
  • Assist students to develop life skills.
  • Collaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients' special needs.
  • Develop individualized education and intervention plans based on special needs of client to facilitate their readaptation and independence objectives.
