Senior Manager Accounting | up to €90,000 | Ghent Region

For an international and rapidly growing biotech organization in the Ghent region, we are looking for a Senior Manager Supply Chain Accounting who combines technical accounting expertise with governance, internal controls, audit, and people management. In this key role, you will oversee the quality, consistency, and compliance of financial reporting within a global production network. You will become the technical point of contact for accounting within Supply Chain and work closely with, among others, Finance, FP&A, Controllership, and Audit. Additionally, you will lead 2 employees and play an important role in further standardization and professionalization.

Your responsibilities

• You monitor accounting governance and ensure a consistent application of accounting standards across various production sites.
• You strengthen and optimize the global framework regarding internal controls.
• You identify risks, accounting gaps, and reporting issues and implement sustainable improvement actions.
• You advise on complex and non-routine accounting issues.
• You lead monthly financial reviews regarding, among others, inventory, fixed assets, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• You coordinate audit activities and closely follow up on remediation plans.
• You are an important point of contact for both internal and external auditors.
• You stimulate process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement.
• You contribute to building scalable accounting processes that support further international growth.
• You work closely with Supply Chain Finance, Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Internal Audit, and Financial Reporting.
• You coach and guide 2 direct reports and additionally support broader finance colleagues within the organization.
• You monitor the correct application of IFRS and strengthen the audit readiness of the organization.

Your profile

• You hold a master's in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a similar field.
• You have at least 8 years of relevant experience within external audit, internal audit, technical accounting, financial controls, or a similar environment.
• You possess strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.
• You have experience with internal controls, risk management, and governance.
• Experience within Big Four or a similar audit environment is a clear asset.
• Experience within an international or highly regulated environment is a plus.
• Knowledge of SOX, manufacturing, supply chain accounting, or cost accounting is a plus.
• People management experience is a plus, but not absolutely necessary.
• You possess strong analytical skills and are strong in problem solving.
• You are a strong communicator and know how to engage various stakeholders.
• You are hands-on, proactive, and naturally take ownership.
• You have strong knowledge of Excel and financial modelling.
• You have experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience with inventory and fixed assets modules is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of Anaplan or other consolidation tools is a plus.
• You speak fluent English. Dutch is a plus.
