Industrial Automation Engineer

For a modern industrial production environment in the Mouscron region, we are looking for an Industrial Automation Engineer who combines automation with analysis, process improvement, and technical optimization.

You will enter a broad engineering role in which you do not exclusively program. You primarily investigate how machines and production processes can perform better, map out technical bottlenecks, and work together with maintenance and production on structural improvements.

You will work across two production sites and will be given plenty of room to further expand your technical knowledge.

What You Will Do

• Analyze production processes: You investigate where technical losses, inefficiencies, and downtime occur and translate these into improvement actions.
• Optimize PLC systems: You adjust existing automation and work primarily with Siemens Step 7 and TIA Portal.
• Analyze malfunctions: You go beyond merely solving a problem and search for the structural cause.
• Collaborate with maintenance: You work closely with technical colleagues to realize improvements to machines and installations.
• Increase performance: You help further improve line speeds, availability, quality, and general efficiency.
• Utilize technical data: You help make data from machines and installations accessible for analysis and further optimization.
• Support automation projects: You participate in expansions, adjustments, and new technical installations.
• Explore new technologies: You get the chance to further develop yourself in, among others, industrial data, digitalization, motion, vision, and predictive maintenance.

Who You Are

• You have a technical background in automation, electromechanics, electronics, or a similar field.
• You have knowledge of Siemens Step 7 and/or TIA Portal.
• You do not need to be a specialist in every part of industrial automation yet. Eagerness to learn and technical curiosity are particularly important here.
• You enjoy analyzing how machines and processes function.
• You think in terms of structural solutions and improvements.
• You enjoy working together with maintenance, production, and engineering.
• French is important within the daily operations.
• You can express yourself in English, but it does not have to be perfect.
