Automotive System Engineer

At the earliest possible date, we are looking for a System Engineer (m/f/d) to strengthen our team at the Adelberg location.

Your Tasks:

• Analysis of customer-specific automotive applications and operating conditions for sensor- and actuator-based systems
• Derivation of technical system requirements from OEM and Tier-1 specifications as well as their translation into robust system concepts
• Design and evaluation of system architectures for automotive sensors and actuators, including signal acquisition, communication interfaces, and mechanical integration
• Development and evaluation of alternative system concepts using application-specific simulations (e.g., thermal or magnetic behavior, electrical performance, service life)
• Evaluation of trade-offs between accuracy, robustness, space constraints, and system costs to identify economically sensible solutions
• Definition of system integration and validation concepts for sensor and actuator assemblies as well as support for testing activities
• Technical interface between customers, suppliers, and internal development teams (electronics, software, mechanics, production)
• Creation and maintenance of system documentation, specifications, and technical decision documents

Your Profile:

• Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, automotive engineering, Systems Engineering, or a comparable technical course of study
• Professional experience in the development or application of automotive sensors and/or actuators
• Sound understanding of sensor principles (e.g., temperature, position, pressure, current sensors) as well as actuator technologies (e.g., motors, solenoid valves, valves, power electronics)
• Experience with system simulations and analytical methods to support design and validation decisions
• Knowledge in the system integration, validation, and testing of electromechanical systems
• Participation in the implementation of development frameworks such as Automotive SPICE, Functional Safety, and FMEA
• Ability to evaluate component and system trade-offs with a strong focus on cost-efficiency and manufacturability
• Strong communication skills and experience in technical coordination with customers as well as development teams in China
• Business fluent English skills; German skills are an advantage
