Senior Content Manager
Salary: £43,857 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Work Pattern: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-respected organisation with an ambitious mission to restore wetlands and inspire others to value and protect these incredible habitats. This role will put content right at the core of WWT’s communications and engagement activity, telling measurably impactful stories of wetlands and the work WWT does to unlock their superpowers.
Based in the Communications team, the Senior Content Manager will lead the development of a new content strategy for WWT, designed to elevate WWT’s voice, build brand awareness and deepen engagement with our visitors, supporters and partners. Leading a talented and creative team of content creators, you’ll work with colleagues from conservation teams to wetland centre staff and volunteers, to showcase the wonder of wetlands and the impact of WWT’s work across the UK and beyond.
You’ll have proven experience of developing successful content strategies that deliver high-quality, engaging and audience-focused content. You’ll understand how to optimise and enhance dynamic content plans that reach a range of audiences and support ambitious communications and campaign objectives. With an eye for a good story, you’ll bring our projects, our science and our work to life, and put wetlands at the heart of the conservation debate.
About You
You’ll be:
- A proactive and collaborative leader, comfortable championing a strategic vision for WWT’s content storytelling, putting it at the heart of WWT’s audience engagement.
- A confident team leader, who thrives when providing creative direction and support to content creators, getting stuck into content production when needed.
- Experienced in developing integrated, multi-channel content strategies designed to deliver measurable results against specific engagement objectives.
- Confident developing and implementing content plans that support wider fundraising, marketing and communications objectives.
- Comfortable managing a busy team, balancing competing priorities and translating them into clear and achievable plans.
- A strategic thinker, skilled in building effective working relationships across an organisation and confident advising colleagues on content plans that deepen connection and builds brand profile.
- With a strong focus on delivering impactful content, you'll know how to develop robust content objectives and KPIs, using tools and processes to enhance and optimise content that builds audience engagement and drives action.
- Experienced in working in complex organisations, you'll have an eye for storytelling opportunities that build a coherent narrative and bring a cause and work of an organisation to life for a wide range of audiences.
