*Job Summary*
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Journeyman Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and maintain precision machining equipment to produce high-quality components that meet strict specifications. Your expertise in operating manual machinery, mechanical knowledge, and blueprint reading will be essential to ensure efficient production processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing projects while honing your technical skills in a fast-paced environment. Wages are negotiable based on experience.
*Responsibilities*
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot manual machine lathes, drill presses and vertical milling machines. CNC experience is an assett
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models created in SolidWorks or other CAD software to produce accurate parts.
- Perform CNC programming adjustments to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency an asset
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area by properly handling hand tools, power tools, welding equipment if experienced, and other machining tools.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery, perform basic maintenance, and troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction.
*Skills*
- Proficiency with CNC programming languages including Fanuc controls an asset
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Experience operating CNC lathe, CNC milling machines an asset, and related machining equipment.
- Familiarity with CAD software for design interpretation.
- Ability to use precision measurement tools like calipers and micrometers effectively.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including welding an asset, assembly, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine settings.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and quality in production workflows an asset
- Valid forklift certification is an asset for material handling tasks if needed.
