Your tasks

Westpoint Transit is seeking a Operations Executive (Safety Management) to join our growing team. This role will be responsible responsible for implementing the company’s safety policies and procedures, monitoring day-to-day safety-related performance, conducting and managing of inspections and inspectors’ schedules, as well as overall incident investigations.

The scope of work of this role will be as follows:

1. Implement and maintain company safety policies, procedures and safe work practices for transport operations;
2. Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety requirements;
3. Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identify root causes and follow up on corrective and preventive actions;
4. Ensure all incidents are properly recorded, monitored and followed through in a timely manner, including weekly and monthly follow-ups;
5. Monitor driver safety performance and coordinate coaching, retraining or other follow-up actions where required;
6. Manage the Site Inspector’s schedule and ad-hoc tasks, including checks on sites and/or buses on site;
7. Work closely with the Site Inspector to prioritise sites and buses that require further inspection or follow-up;
8. Maintain accurate safety records and prepare safety reports to support the Team Lead in monitoring and improving overall safety performance.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with these qualifications:

1. Has at least 2 years of experience in transport operations or safety management;
2. Possesses strong coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders;
3. Is highly organised and detail-oriented, capable of handling time-sensitive information;
4. Demonstrates proficiency in MS Office and fleet management systems (knowledge of Google Workspace is an advantage);
5. Is proactive and resourceful, with a problem-solving mindset;
6. Has a positive attitude and team-oriented approach.
