oyster farmer

Seeking worker looking to gain experience and employment in the field of aquaculture. This is a great opportunity for someone who?s motivated to grow ? we?re hoping to find someone who wants to work their way up to a leadership role over time. We run a small crew oyster farm with long term employee retention located in Deep Bay. Employees must be in good physical shape (able to lift 60 pounds in repetition and sometimes over the head) and be willing to work in varying weather conditions. Must have a valid driver?s licence and reliable transportation.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Loading and screening oysters
• Pressure washing trays
• Operating boats
• grading oysters

A qualified employee would need to:

• Enjoy working outside and work in all weather conditions
• Participate in gear maintenance and practices
• Have experience working with boats and hydraulics
• Have great attention to detail and a willingness to learn and adapt to an ever changing work environment
• Be able to communicate effectively with co-workers
• Express a passionate attitude toward shellfish and the ocean
• Be punctual, reliable, and accountable
• Be positive and a hardworking team player
