*Position Overview:*

The Construction Labourer is responsible for supporting construction activities through site preparation, material handling, equipment operation assistance, cleanup, and general labour duties. This role assists skilled tradespeople and site management to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company quality standards.

*Key Responsibilities:*

_General Labour_

  • Prepare construction areas by clearing debris and organizing materials.
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Assist carpenters, concrete crews, equipment operators, and other trades as required.
  • Perform demolition and removal of existing materials where directed.
  • Receive and verify deliveries of materials and supplies.
  • Organize and store materials in designated areas.
  • Ensure materials are protected from damage and weather exposure.

_Site Maintenance and Housekeeping_

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite.
  • Remove waste, debris, and surplus materials regularly.
  • Ensure walkways, access routes, and work areas remain clear and hazard-free.
  • Support site environmental practices, including waste sorting and spill prevention.

_Safety Responsibilities_

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and WorkSafeBC regulations.
  • Participate in daily toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Report hazards, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe work environment for all workers and visitors.

*Competencies and Qualifications:*

  • Previous construction experience is an asset but not required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Familiarity with construction tools and equipment is considered an asset.
  • First Aid, Fall Protection, WHMIS, and other safety certifications are considered assets.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.
  • Strong attention to safety and quality.
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable.

*Physical Requirements:*

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
  • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions when required.

Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
