Senior Staff Nurse – Haemodialysis [SL]

Deliver safe, effective and patient-centred nursing care to patients undergoing haemodialysis in accordance with established clinical protocols and professional standards.

Participate in and coordinate haemodialysis procedures to ensure the safe and effective delivery of treatment.

Perform needling of arteriovenous (AV) fistulas and AV grafts in accordance with approved procedures and demonstrated clinical competency.

Monitor, assess and document patients’ vital signs and clinical conditions throughout dialysis treatment, escalating abnormal findings promptly to the appropriate healthcare professional.

Ensure dialysis machines and related equipment are checked before, monitored during and properly maintained after each treatment session.

Clean and disinfect dialysis machine surfaces, treatment chairs and work surfaces after each use in accordance with infection-prevention and control protocols.

Ensure adequate availability of dialysis supplies, consumables and equipment for daily clinical operations.

Maintain a clean, organised and safe clinical environment in compliance with relevant infection-control and workplace safety requirements.

Support and guide nursing team members in maintaining consistent standards of patient care and clinical practice, where appropriate.

Collaborate with doctors and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals during patient assessments, examinations and treatment procedures.

Maintain accurate patient records and comply with applicable clinical policies, documentation requirements and operational procedures.

Perform other reasonable nursing-related duties as assigned by the Head Nurse.
