Diagnostic Imaging Technologist [SL]
Job Summary Responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with established departmental policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), radiation safety requirements, and applicable clinical standards. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostic imaging examinations in accordance with approved SOPs and established clinical protocols. Verify patient identity, confirm the requested examination, and ensure that relevant procedural consent and radiation safety requirements are fulfilled. Ensure imaging quality is satisfactory, images are correctly labelled, and the requested examination is completed before submission for reporting or release to the patient, where applicable. Verify that examination codes entered into the system accurately correspond to the requested imaging procedures. Explain imaging procedures, including the process and estimated duration, to help patients understand what to expect. Safeguard patients' physical and emotional well-being throughout the examination. Apply appropriate radiation protection measures to minimise unnecessary ionising radiation exposure to patients, staff, and the public. Participate in on-call and after-hours duties when required, in accordance with departmental arrangements and hospital service standards. Perform daily equipment quality assurance (QA) checks in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and departmental protocols. Carry out other relevant duties assigned by the Director, consistent with the role and applicable professional requirements.
