Wärtsilä France is looking for a Service Engineer to join our Field Service Marine team in Marseille, France.

In this role, you will work on-site with customers worldwide, ensuring the performance and reliability of Wärtsilä engine installations.

We welcome applications from profiles with different levels of experience. Service Engineers joining the team will benefit from support in their professional development, with the possibility of evolving into a Superintendent role in the medium or long term.

Your Role

As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Performing and supervising maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work, either alone or in a team.
• Supervising service technicians on-site, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with technical procedures.
• Writing detailed reports on interventions (measurements, photos, working methods, etc.) and ensuring follow-up on work.
• Representing Wärtsilä professionally, maintaining high standards of conduct and availability for travel at short notice.

Profile Sought:

• BTS (Brevet de Technicien Supérieur) or ENSM (École Nationale Supérieure Maritime) diploma or an equivalent qualification in mechanics or engineering.
• Solid knowledge of internal combustion engines (4-stroke and 2-stroke).
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and automation.
• Proficiency in IT tools, including the MS Office suite.
• Good level of English for technical communication.
• Ability to work on board ships and adapt to various environments, with a willingness to travel globally (approximately 85% of the time).

• Previous experience in the industry (engine tuning, development, or maintenance) is an asset.
