Systems Integration Engineer
This position is for on-site work in Juiz de Fora or Contagem, MG. Who will you work with? The Integration department is responsible for ensuring that the main stages of each project are completed with quality, within the deadline, and aligned with our customers' requirements. The System Integration Engineer position plays an important role, alongside the Technical Project Manager, in defining system architectures and conducting projects, as well as interfacing with the testing team to ensure the proper validation of PTC solution components. How will you make a difference? As a System Integration Engineer, you will hold a strategic position encompassing the technical leadership of the groups involved in the development, validation, and deployment of PTC Wabtec projects. The professional will be fundamental in ensuring that the various products being developed are aligned with project requirements and are effective in their respective functions for the PTC system. The System Integration Engineer will also work closely with the integrated testing team, ensuring that the production environment is reproduced within the Wabtec laboratory structure, enabling efficient product validation within Wabtec quality standards. What do we want to know about you? Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields. Advanced English communication (oral and written); Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to express yourself clearly and concisely, suitable for the audience; Self-motivated, with a proven ability to work independently and demonstrate strong leadership and teamwork skills; Ability to develop a high level of credibility and positive relationships with subordinates, colleagues, and managers; Experience in systems integration (dependencies, overlap, messaging, interfaces, among others); Knowledge in systems design and architecture; Technical writing skills; Knowledge in Software architecture; Knowledge in developing functional system requirements; Experience in QA processes and software validation; Critical analysis and complex problem-solving skills; Ability to guide cross-functional teams and promote collaboration between areas; Desirable: Familiarity with current railway sector rules and regulations; Familiarity with train control design practices; Knowledge in demand distribution and monitoring the effort expended in project tasks performed by team members; Background in systems development. What will your day-to-day look like? Work on design and quality activities to produce the PTC solution agreed upon with the customer; Coordinate design and software submissions/distributions; Ensure that change management is properly communicated among the different design, development, and quality teams; Conduct periodic design reviews; Work on drafting requirements to guide development, testing, and commissioning teams; Ensure that all quality processes and stages have been completed; Manage integration tests and lead defect management and resolution; Monitor project success regarding quality goals, schedule, and customer requirements, making necessary adjustments to meet expectations; Coordinate field tests; Be the technical and methodological reference within the Integration department; Promote continuous improvement through metrics analysis, bottleneck identification, and solution proposals; Directly support global teams in release planning, integrations, and test cycles; Share knowledge with the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
