Signaling Engineer

This position is for on-site work in Contagem, MG. Who will you work with? You will be part of the Signaling & Systems – Digital Intelligence area, working on high-complexity railway signaling projects throughout the entire engineering life cycle, from requirements definition and solution development to integration, testing, commissioning, and entry into operation. You will work in close collaboration with Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Installation, RAMS, Supply Chain teams, and customers, ensuring that functional, operational, safety, and performance requirements are properly implemented, tracked, and validated throughout the projects. How will you make a difference? As a Signaling Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to the development, integration, validation, and implementation of advanced railway signaling systems. Your activities may encompass hardware design, software design, systems integration, testing, commissioning, and support for entry into operation, depending on project needs. You will work in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that solutions meet technical, operational, regulatory, and safety requirements, contributing to the delivery of robust, reliable, and high-performance systems. Your technical expertise will be fundamental in supporting the execution of engineering activities, continuous process improvement, and the development of solutions that increase the safety, availability, and efficiency of railway operations. What do we want to know about you? Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. Experience in railway signaling engineering or related areas. Intermediate or advanced English. Experience in one or more railway signaling engineering disciplines, including hardware development, software development, systems integration, testing, or commissioning. Knowledge of railway signaling systems, including interlockings, level crossings, traffic control, and wayside equipment. Experience in preparing and interpreting technical documentation, electrical diagrams, functional requirements, and system specifications. Knowledge of vital logic, relay logic, LADDER programming, or equivalent technologies. Familiarity with integration, testing, verification, validation, and system acceptance processes. Knowledge of applicable railway standards, including AREMA, CENELEC, or equivalent frameworks. Ability to analyze and resolve technical problems. Good communication and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams. Availability for travel. Collaborative, proactive, and results-oriented profile. Interest in continuous learning and technical development. Differentials: Experience with ElectroLogIXS, ElectroCode, XP4, or similar technologies. Experience with Wayside Interface Units (WIUs) and integrations with train control systems. Knowledge of RAMS and Safety Assurance. Knowledge of Python, Visual Basic, VBA, C, or C++. Familiarity with electrical simulation, automation, or software development tools. Experience in field testing, commissioning, entry into service, or assisted operation. Experience with SATS or equivalent simulation and validation tools. What will your day-to-day be like? Develop, review, and validate railway signaling solutions according to the technical and operational requirements of the projects. Participate in the definition of architectures, interfaces, and technical solutions for signaling systems. Prepare, analyze, and update technical documentation, diagrams, specifications, procedures, and engineering reports. Execute design, configuration, implementation, and integration activities for signaling systems and their components. Perform testing, verification, validation, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities for railway systems. Participate in the integration of WIUs, wayside equipment, and interfaces with train control and protection systems. Collaborate with internal teams and customers for the analysis and resolution of technical problems. Support the preparation of estimates, schedules, and planning of engineering activities. Analyze logs, event records, and operational data for fault identification and correction. Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and methods. Provide technical support during deployment, testing, entry into service, and assisted operation. Perform technical field visits as required by projects. Benefits: At Wabtec, people come first.
