Senior Sourcing Specialist
The Locomotive Kurastyru Zauyty (LKZ), a Wabtec company based in Astana, Kazakhstan, is a leading manufacturer of modern locomotives serving domestic and international railway markets. Who will you be working with? As a member of the Indirect sourcing team, you will work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, contractors, and cross-functional teams to ensure efficient procurement operations, supplier performance, and uninterrupted material availability for production and business needs. How will you make a difference? In this role, you will contribute to the efficiency and continuity of operations by coordinating purchasing activities, managing supplier relationships, preparing procurement documentation, and providing analytical support for decision-making. You will work with both local and international suppliers while supporting cost optimization, quality improvement, and supply reliability initiatives. What do we want to know about you? Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Law, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience in procurement, materials management, supply chain, or tender administration. Knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and supplier relationship management. Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to work with large volumes of data. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook). Experience with ERP systems (1C, SAP, Oracle, Coupa, or similar procurement systems). Mandatory English language proficiency at Intermediate level or higher, including: Business correspondence; Contract review; Procurement documentation preparation; Communication with international suppliers.
Strong communication and negotiation skills. High level of responsibility, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. What will your typical day look like? Organize and manage procurement and tendering processes in compliance with company policies and procedures. Source, qualify, and develop suppliers in local and international markets. Prepare and coordinate tender documentation. Develop procurement recommendations and supplier selection justifications. Prepare procurement-related protocols, purchase requests, and contracts. Monitor suppliers’ compliance with contractual obligations and performance requirements. Prepare analytical reports related to procurement and materials management activities. Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to support operational and business objectives. Maintain procurement records and documentation in ERP and related systems. Support continuous improvement initiatives within procurement and supply chain operations. Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management and support departmental objectives.
