Quality Specialist

This position is for on-site work, in the city of São Luis – Maranhão. Who will you work with? You will be part of the MSA (Maintenance Service Agreement) VALE team, located in São Luís – Maranhão. This team is responsible for providing operational support to the client at EFC – Estrada de Ferro Carajás, working alongside the Wabtec Quality team, which is committed to generating value for customers, operations, and people through the development of solutions based on Quality tools and Lean methodology. Our role is to quickly direct corrective and containment actions to detected deviations, manage the Quality System, and promote continuous improvement in all our areas of operation. How will you make a difference? As a member of the Quality team, you will be responsible for participating in and contributing to activities for the control and recording of documents and quality plans; monitoring interfaces with other areas of the organization and clients; supporting the implementation process and Lean methodology in your area of operation. You will interact with the client's professionals, providing technical support in all stages of the maintenance process. Your performance will be essential to ensure that WABTEC standards are strictly met throughout the execution of activities. What do we want to know about you? Technologist or Engineer in Control and Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Analysis and Systems Development, Computer Science, or similar area. Knowledge in database development and indicators. Desirable basic knowledge regarding maintenance of locomotive products. Knowledge in quality tools (root cause analysis, 5 whys, etc.). Advanced English. Driver's license (B). What will your day-to-day be like? You will perform non-conformity and assurance records; You will perform planning and control of quality indicators; You will monitor and report the status of product inspections under investigation; You will perform audits on the client's maintenance processes; You will perform critical analysis for taking corrective/containment actions, to reduce defects and process execution time. You will identify, execute, and manage product performance improvement projects through the application of methodologies, statistical, and Quality tools, such as Lean Manufacturing, in order to increase fleet reliability and availability. You will conduct training on Lean Manufacturing, ensuring that the involved and impacted team, both from Wabtec and the clients, has knowledge of the tools and contributes to the implementation of the proposed improvements. You will prepare presentations on quality-related subjects for the final client and Wabtec leadership, as well as keep them informed regarding their progress, presenting the results of the established indicators.
