Who will you be working with? As a Payroll Officer, you will play a key role in delivering end-to-end payroll services across Australia and New Zealand, partnering closely with the broader Payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls. The role is responsible for managing the administrative and transactional aspects of Human Resources, ensuring payroll operations run efficiently and seamlessly. This includes maintaining employee data, processing payroll transactions, administering benefits, supporting compliance activities, ensuring data integrity, and responding to employee payroll-related inquiries. You will work closely with HR Business Partners to support a positive employee experience through the delivery of consistent, efficient, and compliant HR and payroll practices. The team operates within the Global HR model, ensuring adherence to company policies, processes, and local employment legislation. In addition, the Payroll team collaborates with multiple Centers of Expertise, including Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, Compensation & Benefits, and Legal, to support and continuously improve HR and payroll processes, driving operational excellence across the employee lifecycle.

  How will you make a difference? As a trusted payroll professional, you will manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensure compliance with local payroll legislation and statutory requirements, and support a seamless employee experience. Working closely with HR, Finance, employees, and external payroll providers, you will drive payroll accuracy, operational efficiency, and continuous process improvement while maintaining the highest standards of service delivery. In this role, you will: Run end to end ANZ payroll for multiple legal entities/ multiple cycles; Attending basic changes to employee Masterfile data and payroll files; Assisting in documentation of all key payroll related procedures with periodic reviews to ensure regulatory requirements are maintained; Assist with coordination of payment of PAYG, superannuation and workers’ compensation; Calculation of leave and termination payments; Interpreting NES, Awards and Enterprise Agreements; Preparing payroll payments to third party vendors, including superannuation and Child Support; Assist in preparing reports, monthly reconciliation and general ledger related activities; Responding to staff enquiries and resolving payroll issues in a timely manner; Timely reporting of payroll data to various stakeholders; You will provide support for ad hoc activities and other duties as required;

What We Want to Know About You

Minimum 7 years’ experience as a Payroll Officer in a medium sized organization (multiple cycles and ABN’s mandatory); Minimum 4 years’ experience using Sage Micropay (Meridian) is essential; Certificate IV in Payroll or similar is required; Strong understanding of legislation, taxation and superannuation; Exposure and experience in timekeeping systems; Excellent attention to detail, problem solving and time management skills; Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and deliver to tight deadlines; Demonstrated ability to provide customer service excellence; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Strong MS Excel skills; and Assertive & confident.

Key Competencies Strong end-to-end payroll processing expertise across Australia and New Zealand, including multiple payroll cycles and legal entities. Sound knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, National Employment Standards (NES), Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and statutory reporting requirements. Ability to ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and adherence to organizational policies and regulatory obligations. High level of accuracy in payroll calculations, employee data maintenance, reconciliations, and reporting. Strong focus on data integrity, audit readiness, and risk mitigation. Ability to identify discrepancies and proactively resolve issues. Works collaboratively across teams and Centers of Expertise to support business and employee needs. Demonstrates professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information. Continuously seeks opportunities to streamline payroll processes, improve efficiency, and implement best practices. Strong analytical skills to identify root causes and resolve payroll issues. Ability to interpret complex payroll, taxation, and legislative requirements and apply them effectively. Ability to manage multiple payroll cycles, competing priorities, and strict deadlines. Works independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high standard of performance. What will your typical day look like? Manage end-to-end payroll processing for ANZ in partnership with payroll service providers. Ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with local statutory, tax, labor, and regulatory requirements. Review payroll inputs, validate payroll outputs, reconcile payroll data, and resolve discrepancies before payroll finalization. Coordinate with payroll vendors, Finance, HR, and employees to address payroll-related queries and escalations. Perform payroll reconciliations, reporting, and compliance activities, including superannuation, PAYG, workers' compensation, third-party payments, and other legislative reporting requirements. Ensure payroll compliance is maintained & queries handled within TAT Participate in global enterprise initiatives and collaborate with the broader global team to contribute to calls, discussions, and projects, thereby enhancing global process knowledge and visibility  Collaborate closely with the payroll audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions with payroll team, ensuring 100% compliance
