Powertrain Field Test Analyst

Responsibilities and assignments Coordinate, execute, and report the technical monitoring of test vehicles in real operation, ensuring the traceability of mileage, kilometers, routes, technical events, consumption, CAN data collection, inspections, maintenance, failures, KPMs, and fluid analysis, through standardized durability and validation procedures, aiming to ensure quality, reliability, technical evidence, and support for engineering decisions during the development and validation of commercial vehicles. Plan and monitor the operation of test trucks and/or buses on real routes, ensuring traceability of mileage, usage profile, loading, events, and operating conditions. Coordinate field activities with partners, service providers, fleet owners, drivers, and internal engineering areas, acting as a technical-operational interface during the testing period. Execute and/or coordinate static and dynamic evaluations, data acquisition via CAN network, route characterization, operational profile analysis, and consolidation of technical evidence. Monitor periodic inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance, failure identification, technical recording of occurrences, and opening/monitoring of KPMs according to internal processes. Control the collection, identification, storage, and sending of samples of diesel, ARLA 32, engine oil, transmission, axle, and coolant, consolidating results in tables, graphs, and reports. Prepare periodic monitoring reports with operation status, mileage, consumption, occurrences, maintenance, failures, KPMs, data analysis, and technical recommendations. Work in an integrated manner with partners and service providers involved in the test projects, coordinating schedules, information flow, and operational needs. Act as a technical-operational focal point between engineering, fleet owners, drivers, and suppliers, ensuring clear communication regarding events, breakdowns, maintenance, and priorities. Guide drivers regarding defensive and economic driving practices when applicable, aiming to standardize usage conditions and reduce interference in test results. Monitor trucks and/or buses on route, analyzing real utilization cycles, loading types, application conditions, routes, and driving practices. Control accumulated mileage, monitoring graphs, operation status, availability, stops, events, and technical history of the tested vehicles. Characterize routes by terrain, speed, loading, distance, operating time, gear, RPM, accelerator use, and other relevant parameters. Perform data acquisition via CAN network and/or telemetry systems, organizing databases for static analysis and technical graph generation. Analyze profiles of speed, RPM, gear, accelerator pedal, fuel consumption, ARLA, temperature, and other variables requested by the test plan. Present consistent conclusions from the collected data, highlighting improvement opportunities, operational deviations, and impacts on durability/performance. Monitor periodic technical inspections, preferably weekly or biweekly according to the defined plan, recording technical and photographic evidence. Monitor preventive and corrective maintenance, consolidating the history of interventions, replaced parts, probable causes, and actions taken. Identify field failures, prepare problem reports in English when applicable, and support the opening, updating, and monitoring of KPMs. Collect, identify, and control samples of diesel, ARLA 32, engine lubricating oil, transmission oil, axle oil, and coolant according to the plan's periodicity. Monitor fuel, ARLA, and lubricating oil consumption, presenting results in km/l, relative percentage to fuel, and comparative graphs. Support comparisons of consumption, maintenance, application, and benchmarking with competing vehicles, consolidating real operation data and technical recommendations.
Requirements and qualifications Education: Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics, Production, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related fields. Other specializations: Post-graduate/MBA in Automotive Engineering, Project Management, Quality, or related areas. CAN/J1939, telemetry, data analysis, economic driving, vehicle safety, failure analysis, KPM/problem report, fluid collection, and quality standards. Language: Intermediate English.
