Senior Health & Safety Manager (DACH)
Your tasks
YOUR MISSION AT VOI As Senior Health & Safety Manager DACH, you'll report directly to the Head of Safety & Central Operations and lead and develop Voi's health and safety team for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Southern Europe (Italy, Spain, France), plus any further markets assigned to you. You'll be accountable for the team's results and for making sure our warehouses, field teams and offices comply with local legislation and with Voi's central health and safety standards. You'll work closely with the Global Head of Health & Safety, the Global Health & Safety Steering Group, Operations, Legal, HR, HWQA and Communications, and support Voi's growth with safety processes, policies and systems that are robust, compliant and scalable.
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach and develop the health and safety team, including regional and local safety contacts. Set priorities and objectives, manage performance and make sure the team delivers against agreed targets and business plans.
- Safety Culture: Promote a strong safety culture across warehouse, fleet and field operations, so that safety is part of day-to-day activities and operational decision making.
- Policy & Standardisation: Develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures across the region, with market-specific adaptations that reflect local legal requirements while staying aligned with Voi's central standards.
- Legal Safety Functions: Make sure the SIFA, Fire Safety Officer and Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser roles are covered in every market, either through your own certification or through external providers.
- Risk Assessments & Hazard Analyses: Keep comprehensive risk assessments current for all operational sites (warehouses, logistics areas, offices) and for micromobility-specific activities such as handling e-scooters and e-bikes, batteries and charging infrastructure, workshop machinery and in-field service. Plan and verify the effectiveness of mitigation measures.
- Technical Safety & Hazardous Substances: Oversee the safe use of technical equipment, coordinate inspections in line with local regulations, maintain hazardous substance registers and ensure the safe handling of lithium-ion batteries.
- Incident Management & Analysis: Make sure accidents, near misses and safety-critical events are recorded and analysed. Lead structured investigations including root-cause analyses, develop prevention strategies and track corrective actions to closure.
- Inspections & Auditing: Ensure regular, risk-based safety inspections at all locations, monitor the implementation of agreed measures, identify new or changed hazards and make sure audit reports and follow-up actions are completed.
- Training: Coordinate the delivery of central health and safety training across markets and give operational guidance so that teams understand and fulfil their safety responsibilities.
- Compliance & Certification: Stay up to date on health and safety legislation in all your markets (workplace safety, fire safety, battery handling, facility compliance, equipment use). Guide markets in meeting regulatory requirements and preparing for external inspections and certifications such as ISO, and support central teams in maintaining safety-related certifications and documentation.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work with local operational teams, Legal, HR, HWQA and Communications on compliance matters, incident escalations, workforce-related risks and customer and public safety messaging, involving employee representatives where co-determination applies.
- Reporting & Communication: Define safety KPIs, ensure consistent reporting across markets and give management and central teams structured reports on performance, risks and issues. Communicate changes in legal requirements and policies to the markets, escalate critical incidents or non-compliance, and run workshops, safety briefings and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Continuous Improvement: Own the regional health and safety roadmap, support improvement initiatives led by the central safety team, and contribute regional insight to improvements in processes, tooling, equipment and training.
